John Young is on his way from John O’Groats to Lands’ End riding George Pooley’s home built version of a 4 cylinder “Quadrent”. Good luck John, best wishes for success, you will need it on a long single day ride with no fairing and small fuel tank. Upside is plenty of stops for coffee and toilet. 😂 If you want to follow John’s trip this is his Spotwalla tracker

Just picked this up from John, sounds like a tough ride.
“308 miles done, 530 to go.
BUT ….
This is tough, 80 miles of hard rain and now some really nasty winds
We just keep pressing on but it’s taking so mych energy to keep the bike upright in the crosswinds 😞”

According to the spot track they stopped for about 80 minutes just north of Bromsgrove then went back to John’s home.
Hope the experience wasn’t too hard on bike or rider.
Not the best time to take that run on, wet and windy weather and nowhere enough hours of daylight for the run even if everything else was in their favour.

Last report from John, they were up against it.
“Sorry guys – but it’s beaten us.I’ll post a full report later but another 30 miles of heavy filtering around the M54/M6/M5 area sapped what energy I had left and that was before I saw we were due to hit another bout of heavy rain just as we would be joining the A30 around 11.00pm.
Really sorry that I’ve let you down on this. The problem was all me – the Quadrent performed impeccably all day for the entire 600 miles that we’ve covered.
But as I said, “we’ll be back” …. 🙂”

A brave and valiant attempt. I hope the weather is kinder to you next time. Gave the Quadrent a good test if nothing else.
