TR3OC National Rally, 30th and 31st August 2024

The TR3OC National Rally is Go on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st August! We have sold enough rally tickets to confirm that the event will go ahead as planned The rally this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of the build of the first T160 for sale in December 1974.
The format for 2024 is new for the Club’s feature rally. Tickets, both full rally and day-only, are still on sale and should be bought by one week before the rally date; please buy your tickets by no later than 23rd August. This allows us to communicate final numbers to the team at Newark Showground.

The itinerary for the National Rally is:
Friday 30th August
Morning arrival and set up.
Friday Afternoon Jumble in Joe Hallam or outside.
Trip to places of interest.
7.30pm talk by Mick Duckworth motorcycle journalist in Joe Hallam Hall.
Saturday 31st
10am – 2pm treasure hunt.
2pm bike show in Crocker 1.
4pm Awards presentation in Crocker 1
5pm meal in Joe Hallam hall.
8pm rock band in Joe Hallam hall – The Destractors
Sunday 1st September
Breakfast and departure.
The club films will be screened at the rally as well.
Meals will be available from the on-site catering throughout the rally, to be paid for at the time of ordering. Options to suit all dietary needs are available.
Dinner on Saturday evening is included for rally ticket holders. All day rally ticket holders who want a Saturday evening meal from the menu below will pay at the time of ordering.

Guest speaker
The guest speaker at the TR3OC National Rally is Mick Duckworth. Mick is a noted independent motorcycle journalist who has been writing about bikes for several decades. He is the author of a number of excellent and well-researched motorcycle books, including Triumph and BSA Triples and recently Triumph Experimental with Norman Hyde. Mick edited Norman’s recent book Winning Ideas published in October 2023. Among Mick’s other notable books several on the Isle of Man TT and Classic Racing Motorcycles, Triumph Bonneville (with James Mann) and Ace Times covering topics on the famous Ace Cafe in London. Mick is also a prolific author of articles for motorcycle magazines in the UK and USA.
Mick was a central part of filming the Club’s film series BSA and Triumph Triples: The People, The Bikes, The Racers Mick was the interviewer over three days of filming and several conversations on the content of the films. It was notable that Mick knew every one of the BSA and Triumph people interviewed in the films and that played a huge part in settling the interviewees down. Mick also took an interest in the Club’s T180 re-creation project and was the author of the piece published about the road test in Classic Bike magazine in December 2023.
