Meriden Branch of Triumph Owners Club should be there John. If TR3OC aren’t doing anything then give us a shout, I’m sure you would be most welcome to join us.

If only someone would go to the trouble to organise a rally that weekend, Oh I have, would be good to see you there. A great ride out in the Welsh countryside on the Saturday.

John, I’ve emailed the committee with your interest and a recommendation we invite you.
Will let you know what the others have to say.

Everyone on the committee that has answered my email has been happy to have you join us John, so consider yourself invited. Just don’t go bringing anything badged as BSA to a Triumph Owners display.
Do you want to do one day or both?

Date clashes with other events, John – or else we would have been there

With so many events being pushed back in the calendar this year there are bound to be a lot more date clashes than normal Nigel.
We all have to choose what suits us best. Meriden Triumph owners could hardly not do the Coventry MotoFest though as Triumph was in the city for it’s first 80 years.

John Nelson – thank you. I’ll probably just come along for the Saturday. What if I bring the two race bikes ?

Hi John,
I had a chat with our esteemed branch secretary in Meriden last evening. It seems that he has decided to cut our attendance this year to just the Saturday any way. As that is your choice of day we are all good.

We went to the Motofest a couple of years ago with my old Citroen. (100th anniversary rally). Citroens were allowed on the circuit for a lap, great fun, egged on by marshalls to let rip when there was a gap . A great event for car owners, we did’nt see many bikes though. Maybe a good year for Triumphs’ to show off to the public ?

Hi Terry,
Coventry Motofest is a different format this year for obvious reasons.
Previously Motofest has taken over the whole city centre for a single weekend with a lot of different things going on at once in different areas. The Bikes have mostly been either in the Bull Yard area or between the ring road and the rail station.
This year it is spread out in time with differently themed weekends. Not got any idea yet what part of the city centre we will be in this year – The wall of death will be there again this year. We’ve been right next to it some years and calling it the “wall of deaf” by the end of the second day… Just hoping the motorcycle weekend pulls a good crowd – Previous years we got a lot of people showing an interest in bikes who were not presently bikers. Most of the events we go to are very bike centred and you are “preaching to the choir” so the ones where there are other petrol heads about make a nice change.

Hi John Young, I don’t seem to have your email address.
If you are bringing 2 bikes to the Motofest the way in with a van or trailer is via Coventry ring road Junction 3, then Gosford Street and Jordan Well and turn Left into Much Park Street. From there you will be directed to the club stand and secure trailer parking.
Hopefully we will be starting to put the club stand together about 8:00 am and the organisers will be wanting trailers out to the parking by 9:00.
You can contact me at bmf@tomcc.org if you want more information.

The club did do Coventry Motofest before Covid kicked off and we had a great weekend. Stayed as guest of the Antelope club who were based in the Butts Rugby Club. Unfortunately club members were committed to other events for this year and a decision was made to not attend. Next year is a possibility.

I visited the TR3OC stand at the last Motofest when taking a break from the TOMCC one. Bikes were split into two different areas that time so it was a few minutes walk through cars and Land Rovers from one to the other.
This year was a very different event, staged mostly on static inducing artificial grass… There are some of my phone pictures in a slide show here.
