On 31st August 1970, the BSA/Triumph (Rob North) Triples announced their arrival on the Worlds “racing” stage when Paul Smart set at series of records at the August Bank Holiday Crystal Palace meeting riding Daytona No.8.
The circuit has long since disappeared but there are many features from the original track still recognisable.
This event is to celebrate that day, 50 years ago, when the triples showed the world that Britain was still a major force in motorcycle racing.
The meeting will be held as close to the old race track inside the park as is possible.
